Aug 19, 2025
Mercury Racing, based in Wisconsin, USA, has launched a new 15 inch heavy-duty conventional short wheelbase version for its existing 200R, 300R, 200 ROS, and 300 ROS rowing outboard engines.

The new product is designed specifically for high-speed competition, ensuring excellent durability and handling even in harsh water conditions, and capable of making sharp turns.
The mid section design of the new product is relatively compact, using forged crossbeam brackets, sturdy motor seats, a balancing system, and an upgraded drive shaft housing to maximize durability. The company pointed out that this new design is still compatible with DTS or mechanical control, Mercury SmartCraft technology, as well as accessories such as tie rods and side steering.

Jeff Broman, Director of Mercury Racing, said: "Our Mercury Racing 300R outboard motor and 20 inch long wheelbase outboard motor have six seasons of P1 Superstock racing experience, during which we have developed many upgraded components designed to best meet the demanding requirements of maritime racing. We have integrated these components into the new 15 inch short axis outboard motor, providing a new option for racing boats and high-performance leisure yachts, offering high durability and lower center of gravity handling advantages for demanding customers. ”
The all-new rowing exclusive edition 300 ROS comes with a factory installed water exhaust system and a competitive balancing cylinder. This product is equipped with a 5.4-inch Sport Master gearbox on top of the 300R, meeting the international standards of P1 Superstock, Bracket 700, and X-Cat.

In addition, the company has also launched a V6 200 ROS version, featuring the same heavy-duty midsection design and competition grade components, specifically designed for Level 3 marine sports and other high-intensity applications, with a focus on durability and throttle response.
The new 15 inch short shaft outboard engines of 200R, 300R, 200 ROS, and 300 ROS will be released by the end of 2025.
